Scrap or repair

Hello I'm new to this forum and enjoy all the input I see here.

I have a corsa c 2004 1.2 twin port with 204 000 km that my missus has rammed over a roundabout 2 weeks after a new apk [POUTING FACE], I only had WA insurance so the car has been given back to me.

The exhaust has gone through the sump and engine and gearbox have moved back so I can only select 1,3,5 . The radiator, bumper and bonnet are damaged.

What's the best to do break it for parts or repair?

I would break the car and sell the parts. The repair costs are going to exceed the value of the car. If you don't have the time or space you could ask the local scrapyards what they are prepared to give for the car.

At the moment it's in my garage to keep it off the road, but it means my corsa a is now on the road. So probably it'll go to a scrapyard as I need the space.

If anyone on the forum wants some spares let me know.

Ask the scrapyards if they accept a car which already half stripped.

Or what you have to pay them if they come and pick-up a rolling and stripped chassis.

I would look for another corsa c ( engine does not matter) and swap the good things on the running corsa and sell the rest for parts and scrap the chassis with engine

Keep in mind that scrap metal price per kilo is a low... So try to sell as much as possible and only have a bare shell with breaker engine..

I would try and sell the inlet manifolt of the twin port because those as expensive to replace new with the swirlvalves...

They have to accept any wreck with license ;)

I appreciate all the input guys , but I took the easy option and sent it to the scrappy.

Time and space worth more to me at the moment.

Offcourse that is the law, but you will have to pay them money (about 250 euro) to have them take the car.
