In het kader van het topic, en met name de titel vind ik deze ook wel in het rijtje passen, hoewel de bouwkwaliteit?? :hmmz De uitspraak van deze man spreekt in elk geval boekdelen:
'Measure Never, Cut Wherever'

Before I go in to this build, I would like to tell you a bit about Super Woo.
Some of you know Super Woo. For those of you who don't, it is a Daewoo Nexia fitted with a C20 LET and F28 gearbox. That's it. SuperWoo has been in my life for around 5 years now, with 4 of those being used as a LET. It has been the most reliable car I have ever owned, EVER! This is despite being thrashed senseless every time the key is put in the ignition. The one thing that put SuperWoo out of action was a defective cam belt tensioner pulley, that resulted in 16 bent valves (but we can't blame the woo for that).
The car has built up a bit of a legend status within the 4 years it’s been blowing the doors off much more exotic machinery (with many a story to be told). It has also got a bit of a personality (even my Mother-in-law refers to the car as Woo). It's for these reasons that I have decided to keep the Woo forever

.
The last time I used SuperWoo properly was at Trax last year, where it did a 5.7sec 0-60mph sprint (all on badly worn budget tyres and a broken rear spring!!). After that, my misses was using Woo to drive to the train station. But when she got a new job that involved more driving, we got another car and the Woo was put on the drive way, and everything ran out on it (Tax, Insurance & MOT).
That was around February this year; So every day I would walk past Woo on the drive and think 'I must do something with poor old Woo'. The bodywork is really starting to get shabby and rust is becoming more apparent in certain places (no prizes for guessing where

).
My first thoughts were to tune the C20 LET for more power. But from personal (and friends) experiences, this never goes well. Small gains for ££££s spent, and little difference on 1/4 mile times. Also, I wanted to do something different; I already have a 3/4 finished Cosworth Mk2 (put on the back burner for now), and have always fancied doing a twin engine car since seeing a R5GTT at Bruntingthorp many years ago.
So project SuperWoo>>>MegaWoo has started!
I was toying with the idea of converting the LETs to run auto boxes, but gave up after not getting much info on it (and didn't fancy pioneering the conversion). I already have an F28 up front so thought I may as well stick with it. A quick search on eBay found a pre converted to hydraulic clutch (and FWD) unit quite cheap, so I went and grabbed it. However, the slave cylinder was missing, so I had to get another (but at least the holes were tapped)
I also had to buy a pipe that goes from the cylinder to the bleed nipple (the nipple I got off a Zafiras F23 in a breakers yard)
A few weeks after getting the box, I managed to find a decent C20 LET (at least I think its decent? looks ok).
Some people may remember a thread I put up a few months ago, which showed me cutting a Nexia in half? Well my theory is to weld that in the back of SuperWoo, and then I'll have engine mounts, suspension mounts etc all in place. I think that is how people have done it to other cars and it seems to be pretty straight forward.
Cutting Woo up didnt take long, and it actually looked quite neat once I had finished.
As it didn't take as long as I thought, I managed to get the front in the rear over the weekend too! Just need a bit more trimming and it will be ready to weld. I can't do that until the weekend though, due to the noise of the air saw and not getting home until 5:45pm.
I will be mounting the track control arms to a well strenghthend plate so I can have adjustable rear toe
So much more to talk about, but I'm off home now, so I'll leave it as 'to be continued....'
