i always say, i'l better break it myself.

This was the just not yet the top speed of mij Old Very stock Vectra-B 1996 2.5 V6 manual gearbox, with mudflapss :D

My speedometer gives less speed than real when i'm driving over the 200km/h

Very nice! Opel V6 - we don't get any here :(

Up in Johannesburg we need turbo cards, our altitude is 1800m above sea. NA cars lose about 15% power

but you guys have a stock Astra F with C20LET and 4 & 5 doors body's with authentic GSI skirts etc..

Weird actually, as the GSI has proven a very popular version here in Western Europe.

I bet Opel/GM should have done great business when they had these here on the pricelists as well back in the ninetees.

Oh the classic 200ts! Yes we were lucky with that :) Those cars are amazing. They get more and more rare every day.

We only get the 1.4t, 1.6, and 1.6t in the Astra J - I am very upset about it. Saw a 2.0cdti Astra J in London when I was there in April.

What are your thoughts on the Astra J?

Yeah sorry, I mean the 200ts indeed.

My thoughts on the Astra J ?

Well, a nice car for sure, looking good, innerspace a bit disappointing with in mind the exterior length o.a. is the same as the Vectra A (1988-1995),

excellent chairs (best rated in it's class !) but a heavy car, and I think the time has to prove how these downsized engines will do and persist. Especially in relation

to the weight / fuel consumption and durability in general

I think the drag around the mudflapss @ 200+ kph might slows you down Willem :jerry

I can remember 3 years ago your speedo shows higher speeds, even above 250 !

Haha, at that time the mudflaps were there already, the mudflaps in the front are original (and a bit worn haha), the flaps in the rear i've mounted a year of 4 ago.

so, on the ride to Bielefeld (Germany) they were there already haha..

that was a nice ride that day, Carlo with his home build 3.0 V6 (auto gearbox) in his (Jerremy's ex) Vectra-B caravan (caravan = how opel called the Estate) continiously getting smaller in mij 2.5 V6 manual gearbox Limousin (Limousin = how opel called the saloon) rear view mirror haha...

It wil still do the 250+kph but i got rain on this run

I was at the Launch here in South Africa a few months back, and we all had a chance to drive the cars on the race track here, up to about 160km/h. I didn't get a chance in the 1.6t, but the 1.4t was quite fun.

I don't think it is worth the money, here they sell for about 24000 euro (1.6), 26000 euro (1.4t) and 28000 euro (1.6t).

Wow, cool circuit! I googled it :agent 221 is quite fast on a oval, even more when you consider it had to deal with less air then at sea level so it probarly could go even faster! Nothing to be ashamed of. I maneged to reach 215 with my 1.6 but that was on a flat road, nearly on sea level and it took almost the half of germany to reach that speed.

215 on a 1.6 is very good! Well done, did you get scared?

Hopefully when I go to the oval again I can afford some semi-slicks, and possibly have done a few modifications to my car. I want to break the 230km/h mark, then I am in BMW M3, M5, 335, M6 territory!
